Q:What is Diversity Ratio (D Ratio)?
A:
Diversity Ratio (D Ratio) is the percentage of total connected indoor capacity compared to the outdoor unit's rated capacity. A D Ratio above 100% means the connected indoor units exceed the outdoor unit's nominal capacity. This is intentional and acceptable within the manufacturer's limits because not all zones typically require full heating or cooling at the same time. If all zones do call simultaneously, the outdoor unit automatically distributes its available capacity among the indoor units.
